Aeroflot is currently in hot water over recent allegations from their flight attendants in what they claim to be discrimination based on weight, age, and appearance.
Per Travel Skills, these flight attendants haven’t lost their jobs, but rather have been reassigned to less desirable domestic and/or regional routes, which also pay less. These routes also often came with sub-optimal hours, which also affected employee performance, the flight attendants claim. Additionally, employees claim:
We were all photographed en masse and measured — some were even weighed…[t]his was done under the pretext of company rebranding and ordering new uniforms for staff.
As to be expected, Aeroflot has denied any wrongdoing in this situation. In their press release, Aeroflot states that:
Aeroflot does not place geographical restrictions on where its cabin staff may fly; nor does Aeroflot restrict flight time for members of staff based on age or any other physical attributes, such as appearance. The allegation that Aeroflot prevents members of cabin crew from taking their full holiday allowance is baseless; [and] the claim that the expert medical commission has been instructed to remove “old and ugly” cabin crew from flight duties is untrue.
I hope that Aeroflot and their flight attendants can come to a resolution on this dispute.

Aeroflot has always been using young, more of students type of FA.
It gives youngsters opportunity to see the world. And given no strict labour unions like in EU, you are very less likely to see an old grumpy FA, like SAS has for example (and actually fighting with it now).
All airlines should go back to the old stewardess standards.
