Another gift card on sale at Staples in-store!
The other day I wrote about a 20% off gift card sale at Staples this week. In the weekly ad, it only shows Toys R Us, Petco and Xbox gift cards
But in store many stores have shown Nike cards also 20% off – here’s a picture of my local Staples store gift card ad
It’s empty because I took them all, of course 🙂
How to get started gift card reselling
If you’re interested in gift card reselling, you may want to check out my beginner’s primer on gift card reselling. It’s not super complicated (buy low, sell high). You will not believe how hard it was for me to resist the “Buy Lowe’s, sell High” pun there….
The big tool that I use for gift card reselling is this gift card scanner (typing in tons of gift card numbers and PINs is annoying, even if I do have an army of “minions” that I sometimes pay / coerce into typing as part of “homeschool” 😀
I also use these Scotty Peelers (to peel off the PINs on cards, though you have to be careful).
Thanks Miles to Memories and TPM for the heads up!

So I use my barcode scanner for the gift cards. It scans a bunch of extra numbers and then I use the “right” function in excel to get the correct gift card number.
there is probably no benefit to getting the swiper that you have? Looking for your thoughts.
Sounds like the swiper is analogous to your barcode scanner. What the swiper does is similar to what you described – reads the magnetic code and then spits out a bunch of numbers / characters, with the actual gift card code in there. (It’s not always accessible with the RIGHT() function in Excel but sometimes it is). If that works for you, then sounds like you’ve got a system.
Can you please give us more information about this:

What card do you use to get the 5x points? the Ink Card? How do you go through the verification loops?
Yes the Chase Ink card will get 5x Chase UR on purchases from Paypal Digital Gifts. The verification loops are just the endless loops that Paypal makes many people go in order to authorize a purchase
Does the Ink Card give the 5x points on all PayPal purchases or just on the digital gifts?
I believe just Paypal Digital Gifts
