There’s a new offer out at Amazon where you can get $5 in Amazon credit by adding a debit or credit card to your Amazon wallet. This appears to be targeted, but some people that weren’t targeted (or at least didn’t KNOW that they were targeted) were able to get the credit. It’s worth clicking through to see if you were targeted, since $5 Amazon credit is essentially good as cash, at least for many people. Please note that all links on this (and any post) include my Amazon affiliate link. As an Amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

Terms of the offer

Selected terms of this offer include:

  • This offer is available only to customers who were served an advertisement or received an email for an “Add-a-Card” promotion and only applies if you add a valid, non-expired qualifying credit card or debit card to your Amazon Wallet.
  • This promotional offer is valid for a limited time only or while supplies last.
  • Offer limited to one per customer account and one per credit card or debit card.
  • Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the promotion at any time.
  • Amazon Business accounts are not eligible for this offer.
  • If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid, and the credit will not apply.
  • This offer may not be resold, is nontransferable, not redeemable for cash, and is void where prohibited by law and in case of fraud.
  • This offer may not be combined with other offers.
  • Unless an Amazon Gift Card is the stated benefit of the promotion, credit (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.

Step by Step Guide

To take advantage of this offer, follow these steps:

  • Sign in to your Amazon.com account.
  • Activate the offer
  • Click the ‘Add a Card’ widget from the advertisement and enter your credit card or debit card details.
  • Upon successful registration of your card, the credit will be applied to your Amazon.com account.
  • To redeem the credit, make subsequent eligible purchase(s) using any valid payment method.

More Ways To Save Money at Amazon

Amazon often has promotions where you can get a percentage or dollar value off a purchase by using at least 1 credit card point (like Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, etc). These deals are typically targeted, but it’s a good idea to regularly check if you’re eligible, because these deals come around quite a bit. Note that it is generally a bad value to use your points to shop at Amazon, but it’s definitely worth using 1 point to save $20 – $50.
