Ok, so here’s the stuff you guys were waiting for. New cards? We know what that means! New welcome offers!
These new offers will coincide with the official launch date of February 13th, 2019.
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card (formerly SPG Luxury)
(SEE ALSO – 3 Changes coming soon to the American Express Starwood Credit Cards)
The new Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card will replace the SPG Luxury card and will start off with a bonus offer of 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after $5,000 spend in the first three months. This offer will start on February 13th, and run through April 24th, 2019. To recap on the benefits:
- $450 annual fee
- 6x Marriott Rewards on Marriott and SPG stays, 3x restaurants and flights booked with airlines, 2x everything else
- Up to $300 statement credit annually for eligible purchases at Starwood and Marriott properties
- 15 Elite night credit annually as long as you hold the card (does not stack with other SPG/Marriott card elite credits)
- Free hotel night each year after renewal, up to 50,000 points
- Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit
- Marriott Gold Elite Status
- Priority Pass Select membership
- NEW – $100 annual property credit to use on stays of 2 nights or more at St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton properties.
Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card (formerly SPG Business)
The new business card will have the exact same offer as the new Bonvoy Brilliant card above – 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after $5,000 spend in the first three months, through April 24th, 2019. The annual fee will increase from $99 to $125 on the new card. If you currently have the Starwood Business card and plan on keeping it, the annual fee increase will take affect on your next cardmember anniversary after March 28th, 2019. For that $125 annual fee, the Bonvoy Business card will give you:
- 6x Marriott Rewards on Marriott and SPG stays, 4x on US restaurants/gas stations/wireless services/shipping, 2x everything else
- 15 Elite night credit annually as long as you hold the card (does not stack with other SPG/Marriott card elite credits)
- Silver Elite status
- Earn Gold Elite status with $30,000 or more in purchases in a calendar year
- Free hotel night each year after renewal, up to 35,000 points
- An additional free night, up to 35,000 points, after spending $60,000 on the card in a calendar year
Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card (formerly SPG Personal)
I haven’t found anything on a new welcome offer for the SPG personal card, so I have to assume it’s going to remain at the current offer for now: 75,000 Marriott points after $3,000 in spend in the first 3 months of card membership. Here are the benefits:
- $95 annual fee
- 6x Marriott Rewards on Marriott and SPG stays, 2x everything else
- 15 Elite night credit annually as long as you hold the card (does not stack with other SPG/Marriott card elite credits)
- Silver Elite status
- Earn Gold Elite status with $30,000 or more in purchases in a calendar year
- Free hotel night each year after renewal, up to 35,000 points
Interestingly, American Express and Marriott are throwing existing cardholders a bone on this card. For those of you that held the SPG personal card prior to January 23rd, 2019, you’ll be offered a bonus 100,000 Marriott points after spending $100,000 on the card through the end of the year. It’s structured in four $25,000 increments of spending, each for 25,000 bonus points. That is A LOT of spend. You’ll have to register for this promotion after February 24th, 2019.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card from Chase (formerly Marriott Rewards Premier Plus)
Again on the new Bonvoy Boundless card, I’m not seeing any details on a bonus yet. For reference, the current bonus on the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus is 75,000 Marriott points after $3,000 in spend in the first 3 months of card membership (the same as the personal SPG card above).
- $95 annual fee
- 6x Marriott Rewards on Marriott and SPG stays, 2x everything else
- Free in-room internet
- 15 Elite night credit annually as long as you hold the card (does not stack with other SPG/Marriott card elite credits)
- Silver Elite status
- Earn Gold Elite status with $30,000 or more in purchases in a calendar year
- Free hotel night each year after renewal, up to 35,000 points

New Chase Personal Card Coming this Summer
We don’t know much about this card yet, and don’t have any details on the welcome offer or sign up bonus. If you’re in the card for a $0 annual fee hotel card though, this might be a good option! We’ll be sure to provide more details when it becomes available.

Any idea if the annual fee will be waived on any of these cards for the first year?
