Availability is good with as many as 9 seats!
I decided to look up availability for one-week trip in September from Portland to London using Delta’s low fare calendar. Just as I hope, it was available everyday, even on the nonstop flight that only operates three-times a week. And even better, there are as many as 9 seats available.
Is your family heading to Europe this coming fall or winter?

Dan, Thanks! Unfortunately, I booked flights last week for 54,000 points. When I read your article and saw the lower price point……they quoted a $159 change fee. Dang. Guess I will start looking for a new Delta Credit Card for next trip.
Enjoy your articles, and always comb them for new info. Keep up the good work!
Yes – unfortunately unless you have status, you’ll get hit with a change fee and in your case, probably not worth it to save 6000 Skymiles. Thanks for the kind words!
