WOW Air is undergoing an extreme amount of growth–in the past few months we’ve seen them add four locations in the Midwest, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Tel Aviv. With their fleet of A320s, A321s, and A330s, there are lots of untapped markets we can expect them in. Recently, the announced an expansion of their services to New York City.
New route details
Beginning April 26, 2018, WOW Air will add a daily flight between New York JFK and Reykjavik. Per airlineroute.net, the schedule is as follows:
WW109 KEF2110 – 2325JFK 321 D
WW110 JFK0040 – 1045KEF 321 D
As you can see, it’s a really late (or early, if you’d rather) departure from JFK, which means a mid-morning arrival into Reykjavik. As usual, you’ll be able to connect on to many destinations in Europe.
Additionally, WOW Air will continue their services at Newark Liberty International Airport, with an early-evening departure, which gets you into Reykjavik REALLY EARLY (4:50am).
Remember, like Spirit, WOW will charge you for all the “extras” of flying, such as carry-ons, checked bags, and seat assignments. With cheap enough fares, it might still make sense to fly them with the extra fees, but always double check prices!

The 0450 arrival was no fun at all (i did it once in 2017 Q1). The JFK one is way better.
The intense rivalry between WOW and Icelandair is really benefiting consumers. Previously it’s hella expensive for that 5.5 hour flight. Now, the wallet pain only starts AFTER you land =p
