Yesterday I received a great offer for my Bank of America Alaska Visa card:
- Spend $250 or more in net purchases with your Alaska Visa card by June 30, 2017
- Receive a $75 flight discount certificate for Alaska Airlines flights
You have to register for the offer to take advantage of it. I don’t see any language about it being targeted, which leaves me wondering if it was sent to all Alaska Airlines Visa cardholders. (PWaC: I got it too – but I’ve heard of others that did not)
The terms say it may take up to 12 weeks from the end of the promotion to receive the certificate. I wouldn’t bank on being able to use it on a summer trip.
The terms also say that the certificate is only good on Alaska Airlines flights, but I would speculate that it will be usable on Virgin America flights as well. It will probably behave much like the companion fare offered by the Alaska Visa card. It specifically says “not valid on partner airlines.” Virgin America isn’t exactly a partner.
I was actually about to product change my Alaska card (and very likely apply for another one in the next few weeks). I’ll be holding onto it a bit longer due to this offer.
Alaska Airlines has great coverage on the U.S. West Coast, and many options to East Coast destinations. For a mere $250 in card spending, this could get you most, if not all, of a one-way flight!

How do you register for this? Do you have a link?
I had to click straight through the link provided in the email from BofA. There is no registration code or landing page, as far as I can find.
Can you share the link here?
I’m leery about posting potentially targeted email links like that publicly. And I am 99.5% sure it won’t help you. My guess is that the url token is linked to my account. There were no inputs like ‘Milage Plan #’ to register.
“I was actually about to product change my Alaska card” — Just curious, what would you PC the Alaska card to?
I’m going to change it to either a BankAmericard Cash Rewards or a BankAmericard Travel Rewards card. Both have a $0 annual fee. Neither are especially great for everyday spending.
I may simply cancel it. Not sure yet. I try to keep one card open with BofA, but I have the Merrill+ now.
Got it. Great promo.
