Angelina over at Angelina Travels clued me into a new Starwood promotion that is targeted to specific members. You can go to http://www.spgpromos.com/selectmemberexclusive/ and enter in your SPG member ID to see if you are targeted.
Angelina got a 7500 point bonus after 3 months, and The Deal Mommy got 7500 point bonus after 4 stays. I checked both my and my wife’s accounts, and neither of us were targeted for anything. Then I entered in my son’s account, and… what do we have here?
This account is a fairly new account with no stays so far (I signed him up for the SPG Design Hotels promo and he won 10,000 Starpoints for playing!). So it looks like he can get a free night at any Category 1-5 hotel for both of his first 2 stays. I can’t confirm that anyone that signs up new would get this, but it might at least be worth trying out!). While I don’t always think free hotel nights are the best idea, they’re good enough that I will probably direct 2 stays to Starwood between now and the end of June, if not outright mattress running!
Remember, you DO have to register for the promotion before staying, and this is for eligible stays between April 1st and June 30th. Per the terms and conditions, Cash and Points stays do NOT count unfortunately.
