I read an interesting article in the LA Times the other day referencing a new type of room booking being introduced by Hilton at their Doubletree brand of hotels. The idea is that for $25 to $35 / night extra, guests would be able to book a “Little Extras Upgrade” room that could have
There is also more detail in the Hilton press release about the Little Extras Upgrade program as well as discussion in this Flyertalk thread.
What is Little Extras Upgrade?
Per the Hilton press release, hotels have 3 different options to give a Little Extras Upgrade.
1. Little Extras Snack Bag: Guests receive in-room delivery on a display tray which includes one bag of chips, one candy and one healthy snack, along with two bottles of water, a piece of fruit, two drink vouchers and in-room Wi-Fi.
2. Little Extras Refreshment Center: Guests receive 24-hour access to a self-service refreshment center located on the Little Extras Floor(s) with unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as an in-room premium coffee brewer and Wi-Fi.
3. Little Extras Snack Pantry: Guests receive 24-hour access to a self-service area located on the Little Extras Floor(s) with unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as an in-room premium coffee brewer and Wi-Fi.
Another interesting twist is that Diamond and Gold Hilton HHonors members can be upgraded to a ‘Little Extras Room’ when they arrive, subject to availability.
Where is the Little Extras Upgrade program available?
Supposedly the Little Extras Upgrade program is being gradually rolled out to hotels across the nation. I checked a few hotels and the only one that I found was at the Doubletree BWI Airport
The booking details state that the Little Extras Upgrade Room accommodations include all the amenities you enjoy with our standard rooms plus it includes complimentary internet, premium coffee brewer, in-room snack bag and 2 drink vouchers. (emphasis mine)
It’s $20 more than a regular room, and for an in-room snack bag and 2 drink vouchers I do not think that would be something I’d take advantage of.

indeed.. i stayed using one of these packages a couple of weeks back at Buckhead, Atl. Didnt get an upgraded room as a Gold. Loved the keurig machine in the room!
Sounds very similar to the ‘executive floor’ at Embassy suites. It also sound like another way to add room categories and increase revenue when all the ‘standard’ rooms are sold out. I can’t see paying extra for those benefits, just not for us.
