I got an email this morning alerting me that the IHG Point Breaks preview list had come out. These hotels will be on sale for November 2017, December 2017 and January 2018. Remember, I maintain a current IHG Point Breaks map and sortable table page which you can find at

Currently the page still shows the IHG Rewards Point Breaks hotels from October 2017 but that will be updated when the official list comes out

About IHG Point Breaks
IHG Point Breaks are one of the best deals in hotel points as hotels on the list are only 5000 points / night. I have a few trips coming up that I am hoping for some Point Breaks availability
You can book 2 stays per property, and the “good” hotels typically sell out pretty quickly. Still, you can usually find some pretty good deals and at only 5000 points / night, the price is hard to beat. Even if you are low on IHG points, using Points and Cash you can almost always buy IHG points for 0.7 cents / point, meaning any Point Breaks hotel should cost you only $35 or so
Chase Ultimate Rewards do also transfer 1:1to IHG, so that can make sense in some circumstances.
And of course, if you don’t have it already, the IHG credit card (found on our top credit card offers page) is one of the few cards that I keep and whose annual fee I pay. A signup bonus of 80,000 – 100,000 points AND a free night at ANY IHG hotel on your anniversary for only the $49 annual fee makes it a great deal

Timing of the IHG Pointbreaks Q4 2017 list
The email I got also said that the full IHG Point Breaks Q4 2017 list will be announced Friday at around noon EST [sic]. These hotels will be available for booking from October 30, 2017 through January 31, 2018. Usually the hotels go live for booking sometime around noon
I should note that the email I got says that the list will be announced at noon Eastern STANDARD time (EST) though I believe we are still on Eastern DAYLIGHT time at least for another week or two 🙂
Remember that most of the “good” hotels sell out very quickly

Nice to see Belfast on the list — wish I was going! I was surprised at what a nice (and clean!) little city this was. Loved touring the BBC studios and doing the Black Cab tour of the Peace Wall and both sides … some very sobering history lessons there.
Is it 2 stays per property, or 2 days per property? In other words, can you stay at one for a week or two at 5k per night?
2 stays so yes, you could do 2 separate weeks at one property
the best we ever had was Crown Plaza Melbourne Beach Florida. If it ever shows up again, we are staying two weeks
